The inaugural International MoonBase Summit (IMS) will be held on the Kohala Coast on Hawaii’s Big Island. Offering an abundance of natural beauty (encompassing 11 of the world’s 13 climate zones), Hawaii’s Big Island boasts a land mass of nearly twice the size of all other Hawaiian Islands combined, but is home to only a small fraction of the state’s population. The extraordinary diversity of the Island includes green and black sand beaches, lush rainforests, waterfalls and two active volcanoes within Volcanoes National Park.
The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows will serve as the headquarters for the IMS 2017 meeting. Conveniently located near the Kona International Airport, the hotel is located approximately 23 miles, or 30 minutes, north of the Kona International Airport Room Rates: The IMS organizers have arranged for discounted room rates at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows. However, the discounted rooms are limited, so please, book your hotel reservations EARLY!
Availability: Rooms are available from 10/1/17 – 10/5/17.
Pre, and Post, rooms are available (at the discounted rate), based on hotel availability (3) three days prior and (3) three days after the conference.

Hawaii State General Excise and Room Occupancy taxes, currently at a combined rate of 13.4166 % (subject to change).
All rates are based on double occupancy ($75 per additional adult beyond two). The maximum occupancy in a guestroom is four (4) persons.

INDIVIDUAL RESERVATIONS POLICIES
Deadline for Discounted Rooms:
Reservations must be made by August 31, 2017 (the cut-off date) in order to receive the group rate. Reservations made after this date will be confirmed on a space available basis, will require full pre-payment and may be subject to our published rate.
Deposit:
A deposit equal to two (2) night’s room revenue and applicable taxes will be required to guarantee reservations at the time of booking. Personal checks, cashier’s checks, and the following credit cards are accepted: VISA, American Express, MasterCard, JCB, Diners Club or Discover.
Change in reservations:
Important Information!
A reduction in the number of nights of an individual guest(s) reservation or cancellation made within fourteen (14) days of arrival will be subject to a fee equivalent to a maximum of two (2) nights.
Early Departure:
For early departure after a guest has checked in, a fee equivalent to the number of lost nights will be the responsibility of the individual guest to pay prior to departing the Hotel. For guests with confirmed reservations that are no show, a fee equivalent to the number of lost nights will be charged to the credit card on file.

Kona International Airport offers a Visitor Information Program to assist travelers. The program is staffed from 7:45 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Kona International Airport at Keahole (KOA) occupies 3,450 acres of land about seven miles northwest of Kailua-Kona on the island of Hawaii at an elevation of 47 feet. The airport accommodates domestic overseas, international, interisland, commuter/air taxi, and general aviation activities.
KOA has an 11,000-foot runway and a complex of facilities at the eastern edge of the airfield for arriving and departing passengers, air cargo and mail, airport support and general aviation operations.
These facilities are served by an access roadway extending from the Queen Kaahumanu Highway. At the passenger terminals, the access roadway forms a one-way loop enclosing public parking and rental car check-in facilities.
An additional complex of facilities, used primarily by rental car agencies for returns, general maintenance and storage is located along the airport access roadway, midway between the passenger terminals and the main highway.
General aviation, cargo, and related facilities are located to the south of the passenger terminals and the access roadway.
